Reckitt Benckiser has announced a $145.6 million investment in Wilson County, North Carolina, for a new manufacturing plant that will produce its well-known Mucinex brand. This investment is expected to create 289 jobs, with an average salary significantly higher than the local average. The economic boost from the plant will lead to increased demand for housing and retail, as more workers and their families move into the area.
Nearby cities such as Rocky Mount and Goldsboro, as well as counties like Nash and Johnston, are also expected to experience spillover effects from the new development. This includes a rise in residential development, with local businesses seeing more activity from new residents and workers. The facility will enhance Wilson County’s life sciences and manufacturing sectors, further cementing North Carolina’s role as a leader in these industries.
